Example of a spread bet on Euro/Dollar

The Cantor Index quote on the December Euro/Dollar (€/$) is 12756 - 12764.

Opening bet: You think that the Euro will weaken against the Dollar so you sell £10 per point at 12756.

Your prediction turns out to be correct and after some time the Euro does weaken so you decide to close your bet.

The new Cantor Index quote is 12730 - 12738.

Closing bet: You buy £10 per point at the new offer price of 12738.

Total profit =	(12756 - 12738) x £10
	18 x £10
	£180

However if the Euro had strengthened against the Dollar and our new quote was 12772 - 12780, you would have made a loss.

Total loss =	(12756 - 12780) x £10
	-24 x £10
	-£240
