Product Lists

To enable you to organise the products you are most interested in we have split the product lists options into two categories:

1. Cantor Product Lists

These are some pre-built Cantor Product Lists which have been designed to help you get started. These Cantor Product Lists provide an example of the types of products we offer online.

2.  My Favourite Lists

Add and automatically save any product listed on the screen directly to your personal list making it easier to monitor your favourite products.  You can build up to 5 personal lists of your own and each list can hold up to 15 products. For example, you can give an individual name to each list so you can differentiate between different product types such as Indices and Equities or products that you are tracking and those you are actually trading.  Products can be added or removed as you wish.

Search Bar

Our trading platform has both ‘Text’ and ‘Tree’ search functionality to increase the speed of navigation to the products that you want to trade.

Text Search

On the ‘Find Products' text field in the search bar you can type in either the full name of the product or part thereof (needs minimum 2 characters) and then click the search button.

Market screen

Your results will be displayed in a list (could be a list of multiple pages - you can jump to different pages by clicking on the page number on the bottom right hand corner of the product list screen). You can then use the product filters to filter out unwanted product types to help you navigate to the exact product you want to trade.

Tree Search

The tree search displays all products that are tradable and viewable online. Select this option to find products by type

Add and Remove Products

You can add products to your own lists from any Cantor Products or search results. To add products to your list press the ‘+’ sign under the action column. You will then be prompted as to which of your favourite lists you would like to add the product to. If you have no favourite list created you will be prompted to create one.

When viewing these products in your list a ‘-‘ button appears under the action column.  You simply need to click should you wish to remove any products from a particular list.

There is no longer a need to save the lists as they will automatically be saved every time you amend them.

Search Tips

See Search Tips to aid you with your search at any time.

Products

Product Information

Each product displayed on the lists has a little information button displayed under the action column next to it enabling you to view information such as expiry and NTR levels. This can be found under the action column next to the chart button.

Viewing Options

There are two viewing options for our Product Lists. The default setting is the List View. To change the product list view please select the icons provided below (these can be found under the Search tips).

  • List View
  • Grid View

List View

This viewing option displays the products in a list allowing you to scroll down through all products on the page for easy viewing.

Grid View

This grid view enables you to view the products in a grid format making each product and price larger and clearer on the screen.

Tear-Off

Using the ‘Grid View’ option also provides‘Tear-Off’ functionality.

This enables you to open each grid window into a new browser so you can keep an eye on the product price while continuing with other work by dragging the product grid of interest off the trading platform to somewhere else on your screen.  Should you wish to place a trade you can then click the tear off product grid on the ‘Bid’ or ‘Offer’ price and this will direct you back to the trading platform to complete the trade. You can also place your Stops and Limits to your Orders from Tear-Off window.  When using the ‘Tear Off’ function you must keep the trading platform open in the background otherwise your product grid will be closed.

We offer two types of charts: Professional charting and also real time  Cantor charts.   To compliment our charting we also offer a comprehensive market information service.

Trade from any product list by selecting either ‘Bid’ or ‘Offer’ and the Trade/Order screen automatically populates and you can place the trade by selecting your stake and clicking transmit.

Trade Screen

If you select the trade button from the product list screen both the ‘Bid’ and ‘Offer’ prices will be uploaded into the trade screen enabling you to decide your direction of trading from this screen.

Entering a basic trade without any Stops or Limits

Clicking on the 'Trade' button in the 'Action' column of the Watchlist Screen or clicking on either the 'Bid' or 'Offer' price will populate the product and price information on the 'Trade Screen'. In the Trade box check that the product field shows the product you want to trade, then select your 'Stake' amount and confirm the choice of currency. Then simply select whether you wish to buy or sell before finally clicking the 'Transmit' button to send your trade. It is important that you wait for a confirmation notice as authentication of a successful trade.

Stops and Limits

Cantor Index offers three types of Stops & Limits, which are generally referred to as 'Orders';

  • Guaranteed Stop Orders
  • Non-Guaranteed Linked Orders
  • Orders

Orders can be placed in a number of different ways; either from the Trading Screen, at the time of trading or from the Client Exposure Screen (accessible from the open positions and orders section in 'My Account').

Adding Stops and Limits order via the Trade Screen

When transmitting a trade you need to select the type of stop you want:

In each instance the Order level will automatically be set at the nearest permissible price electronically allowed for a Stop or Limit in that particular product. You can change this level before you transmit a trade or when you are opening a position on the Trade Screen. Once the Stop/Limit has been placed it can be moved further away from the current market price by editing in the Client Exposure Monitor.

Guaranteed Orders

To place a Guaranteed Stop, enter the trade details as normal, but prior to clicking the Transmit button select 'Guaranteed Stop' in the drop down box. Note: the adjusted price that is booked to your account will reflect the Guaranteed Stop cost and the closing spread.

Before placing any Stops/Limits it is recommended to read the content in the information buttons in the trade window.
You can also edit Stops/Limits via the 'Open Positions' window in 'My Portfolio Screen' by selecting the "edit" button highlighting under the action column associated with the product. This will then launch the Client Exposure Screen, which displays details of all open positions and working orders associated with that product.

The above image displays the Client Exposure Screen.

As you can see this screen is split up into four sections:

  • The first section displays any positions you may have open with a guaranteed stop/limits
  • The second section displays any positions with out any order or with any Non-guaranteed stop/limits
  • The third section will be enabled for any rolling positions enabling you to request an auto close at the next product expiry.
  • The final section allows you to add/edit or remove any orders

Non-Guaranteed Stops and Limit Orders

These can be placed and edited in exactly the same way as Guaranteed Stops with the exception that further Non-Guaranteed Stops and Limits can be placed against open positions at any time after the position has been opened. Note: a Guaranteed Stop is directly associated with an individual transaction whereas Non-Guaranteed Stops are associated with the overall net underlying position for any one product by currency.

Orders

You can now place orders directly from your list by selecting Order. Alternatively you can add them via the client exposure screen

These are future orders that open/close a position when the market moves up/down to a certain level independent of any open bets or positions.
